Does the qml file size affects the stability of QM?

I am wondering whether the qml file size has any impact on the stability of the QM system. The last couple of months my QM system became unstable, inasmuch as it is being aborting when executing certain macros; I checked with these macros and they do not present any problems. Furthermore, I am using them for three years now, without any problems.
Currently I am using :
XP/SP3,
QM 2.3.0.5
Qml file size : about 1200 kb
Number of macros in qml file : 1423 in 34 folders

Does the qml file size affects the stability of QM?

My file is about 3 MB, never had problems with it. The reason should be somewhere else. If you move these macros to a new qml file, then they work well?

I followed your advice, so far so good. After an extensive round of tests, I did no experience any problem. Neverthless, I can not understand why changing a qml file, it smooths QM operation.
