QM and VideoLAN

Anyone have experience using QM and VLC?

I'd like to create a button that will have the following logic:
If no movie loaded, play movie from DVD drive
if movie is playing, pause
if movie is paused, play

This will play a movie in fullscreen and also bypassing previews and menu:
