Toolbar-like object for exe

I'd like to put an object (image) in the titlebar of windows and have it follow the windows around.
Basically just like a toolbar, but I need to put it in exe, so I can't use toolbar.
What would you suggest using, a dialog, or MainWindow?

Dialogs are too heavy and should not be used for this purpose. MainWindow cannot be used.

Register window class and use CreateWindowEx.
