mac in EXE question

When i want to run multiple function in an exe i use the mac and than function i need, i was reading the help and it sed it's unavailable and "mac can start only functions. Cannot open items (+) ". So what does this exactly mean? I can run functions but what are those items i cant open?

mac+ does not run the function, instead opens it in QM editor, and it is unavailable in exe.
mac can run functions in exe.
