I have some macros that take several seconds and I used to rely on the QM icon to turn red and when it turned blue again I knew it was done.
Now it does not turn red at all. I stare at, launch a macro, and not even a flicker.
Any ideas?

Some macros or all?
If some, possible reasons are:
1. It is function, not macro. Maybe it has custom icon and you don't see its type in the list.
2. It quits quickly, although you expect it should run several seconds. For example, if the macro launches a function using mac, it does not wait until the function ends. Then runs the function, not the macro. Look in the Running items -> Threads list.

All macros have this issue.
So to test I wrote a simple Temp macro (below) and
opened the thread window
ran the macro
it appeared immediately in the Thread window, no red icon (or flash)
It finished and disappeared from the Thread window
noticd this I guess a week or so ago.
Macro
Trigger
F6
mes "start"
wait 4

Do you remember some changes at that time? For example, changed system settings, installed some programs, added some macros, installed different QM version.
Try to install QM 2.3.0.13.
Try how it works with empty QM file (only with System folder and 1 macro). To create new QM file, use menu File -> New/Open File. Then restart QM.

Nothing I can think of.
I'm using Win XP SP 3. Update windows in real time.
Windows Live Onecare. X1 search software, office 2007, var other
This is very peculiar. Everything else of QM works.
Should I just uninstall and reinstall? What will I have to do to preserve ALL settings?

Don't uninstall. Install QM 2.3.0.13. All settings will be preserved.
