Problem with key (...|0x40000)

In one of my XP computers some key commands do not work, for example :

key (72|0x40000) ;; it works H
key (78|0x40000) ;; it works N
key (84|0x40000) ;; it works T
key (85|0x40000) ;; it does not work !
key (115|0x40000) ;; it works s
key (116|0x40000) ;; it doesnot work !


Does any body experienced such a peculiar problem?
