Folder Path construction in a "save in:" combobox

I would like to construct the folder path in a save window. Simplest case when saving in notepad "save in:" combobox. I can do that using "CB_GetItemText with CB_GetCount" but I am afraid this is not that elegant. I would like some advice whether it is feasible in a more elegant way.
