While a macro is running, the QM tray icon is red. To end the running macro manually, press the Pause key (you can change this in Options). While a function or item of other type is running, the tray icon does not change. To end a function, use the Threads dialog (in the tray icon menu) or the Running Items list (menu Run -> View Active Items).
