create global hotkeys for a tray app

Oh yes!! I have found the solution. Currently as of the time I post this, I'm not home but I return in about 12 hours (on the road) and when I get to my main computer, I'll post my findings. It works perfectly and I also tried on my VM's also for other variables. I apologize for not responding sooner but I shall in a bit!!
