TS trigger sporatic

when i use my ts, sometimes it doesn't pick up the trigger. is there a way to turn off the 5 second pre-trigger alphanumeric character menu block?

No, but you can

1. Use nonalphanumeric trigger. For example, trigger `. In some other macro programs it is called "prefix key".

2. Use nonalphanumeric character ("postfix key") to complete menu items. Example:

abc[9] :"abc and Tab"
