How are people out there liking Windows 7 compared to XP. I've been thinking of upgrading lately.
Does it run XP programs well? It seems like to me that it would eat up a lot of memory? If everyone out there could post a few words, pros, or cons...that would be great!! Thanks, Jimmy Vig

i use seven since the first public beta.
both 32 & 64 bit. my workstation has 8gb ram and seven 64. the only time it crashed with blue screen was, when the stupid soundblaster audio driver crashed because of asio. i have no old xp programs, but feels free to upload them somewhere when you need testing.

All my programs used on XP also run well on 7.
Possible problems with some old device drivers, especially on 64-bit. But most drivers for these devices were installed through Windows Update. On 64-bit don't run 16-bit programs. More background/scheduled processes than on XP, but less than on Vista. Windows uses >10 GB of disk space, and about 500 MB of memory. But personally I don't see a big difference between XP and 7, except that 7 looks better.

I guess the old adage goes...if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
I usually have the appearance of my computers running bare bones anyways. Doesn't really bother me. I'd run terminal as long as I could get the job done. I don't believe I will update at this time. Thanks Gintaras. Thanks _pi.
