How can I convert a String to Int type?

how can i convert a string to an int?
for example :
str = "1"
the string 1, will converted be converted to an integer which is 1.

in C# I think this is how you will do it.

string num ="1";
int x = Int.Parse(num);

but here in QM, is there a simple way to do that?
